Reconnect, Unwind and Be Pampered in One of the Most Beautiful Setting in The World
Known for some of the world’s most spectacular scenery, outdoor adventure and as a spiritual center of the Southwest, Sedona, AZ has long attracted visitors looking to reconnect with nature and relax the body and mind. As one of the area’s foremost retreats, L’Auberge de Sedona is designed to enhance those experiences for its guests.
Nestled on the banks of Oak Creek in the heart of Sedona’s famed Red Rock country, L’Auberge de Sedona provides guests with an unparalleled comfort and hospitality. The resort is comprised of 31 secluded Cottages, 21-room Lodge and a 2,400 square-foot four-bedroom Creek House, a rejuvenating spa and award-winning restaurant, all spread throughout 11 acres along Sedona’s tranquil creek. All of the accommodations feature elegant Country European interiors that complement the tranquil surroundings and soothing views of the resort’s gardens or Oak Creek.
At the award winning, Four-Diamond L’Auberge Restaurant on Oak Creek, guest can enjoy the gourmet offerings of renowned Executive Chef, David Schmidt. Considered the most romantic restaurant in Arizona, the L’Auberge Restaurant features creative contemporary French dishes with Mediterranean influences. The cuisine incorporates locally grown, seasonal ingredients. In the winter months, Executive Chef, Schmidt uses a braising technique which keeps the menu savory and ever-changing.
To soothe the body and well as the spirit, L’Auberge de Sedona features a recently renovated spa which complements the romantic, secluded and naturally spectacular environment of the intimate creek side retreat. Offering Institut Esthederm, L’Occitane and ElizabethW products, guests of L’Auberge de Sedona can experience treatments in one of the spacious new spa treatment rooms or enjoy their session creek side in an airy spa cabana.
For those looking for a more active getaway, the resort is located minutes from sophisticated art galleries, entertainment, shopping and exhilarating outdoor adventures such as Jeep tours of the Red Rocks, horseback riding and hot air balloon rides. L’Auberge also hosts a Stargazing every Friday evening, presented by the resort’s professional astronomer with one of the most high-powered telescopes in Arizona.
The beauty and comfort of L’Auberge de Sedona has not gone unnoticed. For the fourth year, the intimate resort has secured top recognition from Travel & Leisure magazine as one of the “Top 500 Hundred Hotels in the World”. L’Auberge de Sedona also secured a top spot on the 2008 “Gold List” (for the eighth time) as one of the best places to stay in the world and one of the top 100 hotels in the country, as chosen by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler. Additionally, the property has been rated one of the top U.S. Hotels, Resorts & Spas by the Zagat Survey in 2008.
L’Auberge de Sedona has consistently been the recipient of many other awards in recent years, including the “AAA Four-Diamond Award” from the American Automobile Association, the “DiRoNA Award of Excellence” from Distinguished Restaurants of North America, and the “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine.
Currently, L’Auberge de Sedona is undergoing a $25 Million dollar resort expansion, Project Elevation, to be completed in late summer 2009. The project will introduce guests to a new collection of ultra-luxurious and contemporary hillside cottages, each one offering unparalleled views of Sedona’s famous Red Rocks. These 1200-sqaure foot, one-bedroom cottages will offer indoor and outdoor living spaces including a large observation deck for outdoor entertaining and dining, spacious and discreet outdoor showers, gas fireplaces and many more design features and amenities. In addition to the new hillside guest cottages, a newly constructed spa and spa cottages will be added to form a kind of “spa village.” Additionally, existing creekside and garden cottages throughout the resort will be redesigned and upgraded. In short, all cottages will either be newly built or newly designed.
A new feature, the Wanderlust Library and Lounge, is also being added to give guests the opportunity to relax with refreshments while perusing well-stocked shelves with travel, travel-related, and art books of the world.
At the heart of the enhancement program is the resort’s initiative to provide the most comfortable and luxurious experience while being environmentally sensitive in one of nature’s most beautiful settings. The project is conceived with the utmost respect for the creek and its pristine waters. New Global Electric Motorcars, known as GEM Cars, will transport guests from around the property and from their luxury accommodations to Uptown Sedona’s shopping district.
While L’Auberge de Sedona is located just 28 miles south of Flagstaff and a two-hour drive from Phoenix, it is a retreat which feels like a world away from the stresses of everyday life. “Sedona is a place of unsurpassed natural beauty,” says Joe Mottershead, General Manager of L’Auberge de Sedona. “At L’Auberge de Sedona we constantly strive to deliver unforgettable and unique guest experiences by drawing from this natural beauty. After all, L’Auberge de Sedona is a place for our guests to reconnect, unwind and be pampered.”
