Laufen proves that black is back with their new IL BAGNO ALESSI dOt collection in matte black ceramic. Designed by Dutch architect Wiel Arets, IL BAGNO ALESSI dOt features an architectural design with elementary shapes such as the circle, square and angle. The collection adheres to the original bathroom design by Stefano Giovannoni. Leading Swiss bathroom brand Laufen brought the products to life with their one-of-a-kind craftsmanship and expertise as a creator of luxury ceramics.
Featured in black matte ceramic, the collection personifies black as the color of the season. The award-winning pedestal sink, wall-hung toilet, bidet, and shelves are available in this new black finish.
The neutral color of the elements in the collection allow them to be easily paired with natural materials like wood and stone as well as those that have a high-gloss finish. Its versatility also enables it to be mixed with furniture for the creation of a totally different kind of ambiance.
Arets started out with the premise that individual elements were not to detract from the actual purpose of the bathroom – the cleansing of the body and soul. The collection features asymmetric shapes, most of which have declining straight lines on their front and left side, giving them a lighter look that also makes them stand out. As Arets explains, “The accumulation of the various components is based on the individual strength of its several parts. Each has to serve its purpose without overpowering the whole.”
