Officially celebrated in February 2008 at Mondolfo, the home of luxury Italian yacht manufacturer Pershing, the alliance of the two companies very quickly stirred the passions of connoisseurs of fine mechanical creations. Seen as Parmigiani Fleurier's first major collection of sports watches, the Pershing chronograph had such widespread international appeal that a more feminine version was very quickly in demand. Two styles complement each other: elegant and poetic or more sober and sporty.
Seductive and innovative, featuring numerous original details, the Pershing "zero-zero-two" in white gold with mother of pearl dial is a sublime poetic expression of the oceanic world. Its delicately nuanced blue dial, enhanced by the chronograph hand decorated with a tiny stylised octopus at one end, reflects the deep, crystal-clear water of the ocean. The small second hand is a starfish which rotates in time with the seconds. Depending on the version, the precious baguette cut diamonds and sapphires set on the bezel dance in harmony with the sparkling brilliance of ocean waves. Water resistant to 100 metres, it has all the characteristics of Pershing diving chronograph models.
The sportier Pershing "zero-zero-two" in steel boasts more technical dynamic styling, with its black or amarante lacquered dial featuring "Côtes de Genève" decoration. With elegant attention to detail, the colour of the bracelet in natural white or black rubber is echoed on the chronograph push-pieces and on the notched relief edges of the unidirectional rotating bezel.
