Georgia O’Keeffe, renowned American artist, served as the muse for designer Pamella Roland’s spring 2010 collection. Inspired by O’Keeffe’s clear bright floral combinations, clean white landscapes and New York at night, Roland has created a collection infused with special fabrics and embroideries that evoke the artist’s iconic paintings.
The collection embodies the bold spirit of O’Keeffe’s work. The fabrications are simple and elegant with delicate floral laced patterns and pops of bright color – poppy red, freesia, peony, yellow dahlia and honeydew green. Elegant gold, copper and oversized floral jacquards are accented with printed chiffons and pale tweeds in a softened cosmetic and precious metal palette.
Spring 2010 features silhouettes reminiscent of the 1950's and 1960's couture designs. Menswear-inspired looks are prominent as always in Roland’s new collection. Her signature feminine detailing is seen in dramatic beaded gowns and separates, clean ruffles, soft and strategic draping and oversized floral embroidery are prevalent in both evening wear and cocktail looks.
Pamella Roland, designer of Pamella Roland, channels her artistic appreciation and creativity into all of her collections, finding inspiration throughout her life and the world at large. Roland has designed a modern collection for women who understand subtle elegance and value fine craftsmanship that also reflects her love of travel and her appreciation for quality and luxury.
Pamella Roland debuted in the fall of 2002 on the New York runway to a warm reception from critics and buyers alike. That positive response has grown significantly to the present, making Pamella Roland a label of choice among Hollywood and the fashionistas alike. In 2003, the collection also received the prestigious Gold Coast award.
