How do you feel you make a difference? Is it in the way you work…live…play? How about in the care of your car? There IS a way to do something for you and the Earth at the same time!!
Quikwash, is a mobile, waterless car washing business so it’s Green. And Green is good for the Earth. Based out of Palm Beach Gardens, they will come to your home, office… anywhere you need them to be. Quikwash is powered by Eco Touch Inc, a US manufacturer leading the way in the introduction of waterless car washing in the US and around the world. Eco Touch is a non toxic biodegradable formula that effectively cleans and polishes the vehicles surface. Ploymers in the formula add surface protection, which repel dust dirt and rain. Clients who use the formulas repeatedly find that their cars stay cleaner longer.
Chris Erdman is owner and operator of Quikwash and grew up in Palm Beach County. After going away to college and living in California for about 10 years he felt his heart drawing him home to Palm Beach Gardens. Married to a loving wife and the father of an amazing son, his concerns turned towards making a better life and future for his family. So, with a can-do attitude, and a great idea, Quikwash began in the summer of 2009.
How a Quickwash Waterless Car Wash Works
- Select application method…spray bottle or portable application system.
- Spray formula on a microfiber towel and cool car surface
- Gently wipe and lift to pick up grime
- Quickly use a second dry towel and buff to shine
With the push to make the Earth a better place, what better place is there to start than with yourself in your own home? What we always hear is, “Start Small” and it couldn’t be more true; if we all do a little bit it DOES make a difference. What better way to help the Earth, than to keep your vehicle looking good and feeling good about what you are doing at the same time. We live in an area prone to water shortages and our HOA dues do nothing to allow us to wash our vehicles…How are we supposed to pull up to valet and feel confident? It’s the new thing to GoGreen…talk about “keeping up with the Joneses”…but on a selfless level.
Today, increasing regulations and environmental restrictions point to a future where both water consumption and product ingredients must be taken into account. There are many challenges we must face. As a business owner Chris takes into consideration: water restrictions, toxic runoff, EPA regulations (and the fines for non compliance), exposure to toxins (How harmful are the products you use?), water reclamation systems and limited turnaround time (so you are in and out and on your way).
Quikwash is the Solution
- Save water: 6-8oz water used per sedan…10-12oz per SUV/truck
- Eliminate runoff: Whether it goes into rivers and streams untreated or you are forced to pay a premium for drainage into a treatment plan it is undesirable.
- Increase efficiency: Just spray, wipe and buff. Quick and easy results
- Reduce chemicals: Eco-Touch is non toxic and biodegradable.
- Save $$: Being kind to the environment doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. When ordering the formulas in concentrate the cost per wash is pennies on the dollar – and these savings are passed along to you.
Outside of washing cars, a large part of what Chris does is educating people on the benefits of going green. Waterless is NOT a new idea though many people are still very unsure about it. In the early 80’s, companies began producing “spray and wipe” products designed to clean and polish vehicle surfaces with minimal water consumption. Questions he hears everyday are: How do you clean a car with no water? How can it be done without scratching it? With open minds and a desire to preserve the earth this waterless cleaning process is becoming more understood and accepted.
We’ve got to keep spreading the news, sharing the truth, and with phrases such as sustainability becoming the norm, hopefully we’ll break through. Politicians want to find a way to make a difference, well it is staring them in the face. Quikwash is providing a needed service, convenience and a path to a greater tomorrow. People have very busy lives and the idea of having someone wash their car while they are at work or running errands, is very enticing. How about having your car washed in your garage while it’s raining outside?
Studies show that when given the option most businesses would like to go green, and saving water makes good environmental sense. But money talks and here are some facts to chew on:
By 2050 the world’s population will have grown from about 3 billion to about 9 billion
-only 3% of the water in the world is fresh water
-only 1% is readily usable by humans
Amount of water in gallons used to wash 300 cars per year
Hand wash: 864, 000
Commercial: 612, 000
Commercial with reclaim system: 252,000
Customer service is top priority to Quikwash. If the weather is questionable, Chris will reschedule as he believes the fresh washed car should not be sprinkled upon. Chris’s hope is to make every client happy and keep them as a life-long customer; leading to one more person who cares about the Earth and is working to make a difference. Hopefully this love of the Earth will flow into other aspects of their life as well.
Not only does Quikwash care about the Earth but also about our community. Chris is happy to partner at charity events by donating partial proceeds from Quikwash sales at the event.
