Celebrating its 20th birthday this year, the flagship property of the Luxe Hotels brand, Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel, boasts the distinction of being the only hotel located on the world-famous street, known globally as the “Walk of Style” with its world-class designer boutiques, showcasing the glamour of Beverly Hills. Rodeo Drive, internationally recognized as the intersection of fashion and entertainment, is a unique destination for both Southern California residents and international visitors. The hotel set amidst couture fashion houses and restaurants featuring world-class cuisine from famed chefs, offers a glamorous backdrop for virtually any celebratory event. Its wrap-around penthouse terrace and open rooftop deck, presents an ideal spot to host functions with views.
The boutique 88-guestroom hotel conveys a stylish blend of the relaxed Southern California spirit and the elegance of Beverly Hills, with its luxurious minimalist ambiance and elegant appointments including original artworks, oversized mirrors and fine furnishings. Well-recognized for its distinct individuality and personality, as well as its exceptional design, the hotel offers a “sense of place.” Its signature style is to make guests feel special; their preferences considered; their expectations constantly exceeded; and their needs fully understood ensuring they feel like VIPs with personal staff.
The French-inspired On Rodeo Bistro & Lounge, located on-site, affords international guests and local visitors a convenient place to dine, socialize and savor a menu of fresh California ingredients inspired by French cuisine and the exuberant Parisian enjoyment of life. It is casual dining with “chic.”
The hotel’s restaurant was inspired by the original history of Rodeo Drive, paying homage to the streets of Paris. On Rodeo is the only restaurant located street-side, and the only restaurant where you can dine outside at the world famous shopping destination. Dining on the front patio of On Rodeo Bistro & Lounge is an experience unlike any other. Sitting at the heart of the destination on the 300 block of Rodeo Drive, patrons can enjoy a people-watching experience that is second to only dining on the Champs Elysees. Guests can sip on wonderful 90210-themed beverages with their delectable dishes, while window-shopping the latest lines at Michael Kors, Dior, and Chanel.
And of course, there is a “Table One”, which is a coveted spot. Sitting at Table One puts lucky patrons in the action of Rodeo Drive. The front and center table located right on the street has seen celebrities, dignitaries and VIPs alike. Diners feel like Anna Wintour at a posh fashion show, sitting in the plush, red leather seats with a call button at the table so the wait staff and chef can answer to your every need.
Guests can savor the city of Beverly Hills’ special glitz and glamour right at the hotel through special planned events, which are often partnered with the Rodeo Drive Committee. As an example, when the city turned 100 years old in 2014, its celebration had to be one-of-a-kind. It created a block party, replete with a commissioned birthday cake produced by Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel that, in turn, reached out to famed pastry chef Donald Wressell of the Guittard Chocolate Company to bake something extraordinary. The result was staggering: a cake that stood at a stunning 10-feet high, 15-feet wide, 20-feet long, and weighing in at approximately 4,000 pounds, depicting the iconic Beverly Hills City Hall tower and serving 15,000 people.
A cake-tasting preview allowed media to be the first to sample and receive an exclusive look at a 3-D model of the cake design. Not surprisingly, the cake event was featured on every major television station and in national hotel trade, food and lifestyle publications and, like everything with Beverly Hills, became a national sensation garnering over 129 million impressions, while news coverage to date has surpassed 707 million impressions.
Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel is much involved with its community and partners with the Rodeo Drive committee for several events, such as the “Walk Of Style.” The hotel also received the Beverly Hills 2013 Golden Palm Award for its commitment to community service.
This year as part of its 20th anniversary celebration, the hotel is planning several celebratory promotions and events taking place this year – the first of which is an exclusive promotion starting with a “roll back” of prices, depicting its founding year 1995 –available for stays Memorial Day weekend. This is just a glimpse of what is yet to come as to celebrations of the property for the rest of the year. When the hotel first opened its doors as a Luxe Hotel branded property, a gallon of gas was $1.15; Starbucks launched the “Frappuccino”; Toy Story, Braveheart and The Usual Suspects opened in theaters; and eBay went live.
