The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club recently put the final touches on its $150 million transformation and is situated within the lush surroundings of Aventura, an exclusive enclave in North Miami Beach, Fla., that means “adventure” in Spanish. The Mediterranean-style resort, noted as one of the “500 Greatest Hotels in the World,” 2008 by Travel + Leisure Magazine, is ideally located between the Fort Lauderdale and Miami International Airports. This legendary located on 300 tropical acres draws guests from all over the world to ultimate in amenities and service.

The resort’s 392 guest rooms and suites provide the ultimate in luxury and comfort. For first-rate pampering, each spacious guest room has wood-floor entries, exquisite linens, the finest furnishings and art. In-room amenities include: two-color televisions with flat screens, mini-bar and safe. French doors open onto private terraces with spectacular views of the resort’s golf courses, gardens and pools.

Bourbon Steak, a Michael Mina restaurant, is a contemporary American steakhouse located just off the main resort lobby. With a menu that takes its cues from Mina’s stunning Las Vegas steakhouse, Stripsteak at Mandalay, Bourbon Steak features modern American fare with a focus on the finest meats and freshest seafood available worldwide.

The resort’s signature Cascata Grille restaurant offers a fusion of regional flavors in gorgeous surroundings heightened by magnificent views of the Miller golf course.

The Laguna Grill features tropical island casual fare on an outdoor open terrace with views of the lagoon pool so parents can keep a watchful eye on their children while enjoying delicious cuisine.

The Ocean Club Grill is a seaside eatery with indoor and outdoor patio dining at the private beach club on the Atlantic Ocean.

Sports and Recreation

Golf
The Fairmont Turnberry Isle’s two Raymond Floyd-redesigned championship golf courses have both gone through more than $30 million in renovations changing the landscape of Florida golf. Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., both courses now offer lush, tropical grounds accentuated with a variety of elevation changes, contoured fairways, sharp changes within holes and strategically placed water features.

The courses vibrant hues accentuated by the Paspalum Sea Dwarf grass that stays green year round is offset by the many lakes, brilliant flowers, white sand bunkers and lush foliage, all creating a golfer’s dream destination. 

Tennis
As part of the more than $150 million renovation, The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club unveiled its new tennis center featuring four clay HydroCourts lit up at night and a Tennis/Swim Shop. These new courts are self-irrigating and host players of all levels. Daily clinics and private lessons are available.

Laguna Pool
The only one of its kind at a South Florida resort, the 7,500 square-foot Laguna Pool is its own paradise featuring a 180-foot long, 35-foot high waterslide that gently winds around into a splash pool supervised by a water safety attendant, an 800-linear-foot lazy river with single and double inner-tubes, a separate hot tub and toddler wading pool, plus a nearby Laguna Grill.

Ocean Club 
Just a short shuttle ride away, guests can enjoy The Fairmont Turnberry Isle's private Ocean Club on the Atlantic with a beautiful beach, pool and cabanas.  Wave runners can be rented by the hour and used to explore the sea.

Willow Stream Spa 
The 25,000 square-foot Spa and Fitness Center, created by famous resort architect Tag Galyean, is the shinning jewel in The Fairmont Turnberry Isle’s royal crown.  The Spa’s three floors are connected by a grand spiral staircase that showcases a soothing fountain, all accented by a glass dome skylight.  There are 23 treatment rooms in total, a 3,650 square-foot fitness center complete with an aerobics and Pilates studio, weight and cardio rooms.

The philosophy for Willow Stream is inspired first and foremost by five elements – air, water, earth, wood and fire – whose characteristics are incorporated into the treatments. 

Guests may indulge in an afternoon or day of special pampering or a variety of Spa packages. The Spa was recently opened to the public for the first time allowing non-guests/members to enjoy the Willow Stream experience.
