Morgan Motor
Featuring:
- AeroMax: The tiny Morgan Motor Co. is taking the unique request of Romanian royalty to the next level. First commissioned by Prince Eric I. Sturdza, who wanted a fixed-head version of the Morgan Aero Eight, the production version of the Morgan AeroMax coupe is slated for a limited run of 100 units. Recalling the best designs of Figoni et Falaschi, the AeroMax is a modernized amalgamation of the 1938 Talbot-Lago T150-C Lago Teardrop Coupe and the Aero Eight. Blessed with a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter V-8 powertrain and a low curb weight-thanks in part to its wooden frame-it is one of the quickest cars on the road.
- Aero 8 America: To Morgan fanatics, the Aero 8 is a sacrilege of the highest order. Real Moggies have sliding-pillar front suspensions, after all, and wire wheels-three of them. Unveiled in 2001, the Aero 8 defied Morgan convention by splicing cutting-edge automotive technology (an aluminum space-frame structure with a BMW-sourced power train) with traditional materials and craftsmanship (a Belgian ash hardwood frame and a cockpit swathed in quilted leather). The Aero 8 America is designed to comply with U.S. Department of Transportation guidelines. As such, it has air bags, antilock brakes, and emissions compliance for the V-8 that produces 368 hp. Although the car is quick, acquiring one is anything but. Like all Morgans, the Aero 8 America is hand built in a quaint factory on Pickersleigh Road in Malvern Link, England, emerging at a rate of two or three per week.
