Since the company's foundation in 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, CORUM has taken pride in being a distinctively different and forward-thinking Swiss watch manufacturer. The founder, Gaston Ries and his nephew Rene Bannwart, brought together their respective strengths as watchmaker and creative designer.  They transformed their small private label watch facotry into a watchmaking manufacture with its own brand: CORUM.
